Why I Became a Lawyer

In eighth grade I ran for class president on the campaign platform that I was going to be a lawyer some day! Early on I realized I was not a gifted athlete, not the coolest kid in the class, and not the valedictorian. But I knew one thing. I could persuade people. By using my voice, my intellect and my vocabulary, I could often get people to side with me on any issue. I did not really realize it at the time, but I was a natural born litigator!

All my life I have stood up for the underdog. I hate bullies and I hate a legal system that often bullies people. I use my litigation skills to give a voice to the voiceless and to give power to the powerless. I fight hard day in and day out for the rights of my clients. The system is geared against you. It is often geared against true justice. I use my knowledge, experience and skills to level the playing field. I know how to argue your legal position in a way that persuades the judge or jury to side with you not against you.
I fight to make sure children are placed in the right home. I fight to make sure you receive your fair share of property or spousal support. I fight to make sure no judge or opposing attorney railroads you into a deal that is not good for you or your family. I fight to make sure citizens that are wrongfully accused of crimes do not do a single day in jail. I fight to make sure the insurance company fairly compensates you for the horrible pain and suffering you went through in a car wreck.

I became a lawyer to help people. People who are overwhelmed, scared and confused by a complicated and often unfair legal system. With me on your side, nobody can bully you. Not your spouse. Not the district attorney. Not the insurance company. Not anybody! Not ever!
